Andrea Jones Jennings

Memorial Pet Services was delighted to add Andrea to our team back in April 2011 as the facilitator of our monthly Pet Loss Support Groups.  Moving forward, she will also be providing significant support to our new Pet Loss Resource Center.

Andrea is currently pursuing a BS in Psychology from Regent University, with an emphasis on death education and bereavement counseling.  In addition, she is serving as the School Administrator at Community Christian School of Baraboo.  One of her many past accomplishments includes co‑founding the GRACE Bereavement Ministry, a scripture-based grief support group for people experiencing any form of grief.

Andrea is familiar with the deep pain associated with the loss of a beloved pet as she has experienced it many times in her own life.  Having shared her life up to this point with 13 dogs, 2 cats and 1 horse, she understands the bond that can be forged between a human and a “fur baby”.  Nine of her dogs and one cat have crossed the Rainbow Bridge so far, all of which have held special places in her heart.  A few of them left gaping holes that tore pieces of her heart, and during one of her darkest times she vowed that if she ever found a way through that grief, that she would use what she had learned to help others move through the process as well.  Here is a brief personal note from Andrea

“I am grateful to share my experiences and the things that helped me along my journeys of grief with others who are suffering so greatly.  When we lose a pet, it often feels as if no one else in the world ‘gets it’.  In our Pet Loss Support Groups, everyone that’s there gets it.  The participants get it.  I get it.  That, in and of itself, is a healing agent.”

Andrea is continually educating herself on the grief process looking for additional ways to help those in need by attending workshops and online classes.  She lives in rural Sauk County with her three wonderful children, four crazy dogs, one very brave cat and an amazingly insightful horse!

"Jackson was my best friend for 14 years and I miss him so much, but feel greatly comforted that he was cared for by such wonderful people and a wonderful company.  You have no idea how much I appreciated all your help and understanding. What you do is truly a blessing to the people who need you. Thank you also for providing a grief support group. This has made all the difference in my healing process. I will definitely refer my family and friends to you”. . .
